Eclipse

Today was the debut of the third film of the Twilight series, Eclipse. I wish I could have seen it already, but with the load of work, and lack of money (¬¬), it was not possible.


As soon as I've seen the movie, I come back here to talk about my impressions.
But the motorcycle scene is kind of weird, honestly...

A Single Man

It takes time in the morning for me to become George, time to adjust to what is expected of George and how he is to behave. By the time I have dressed and put the final layer of polish on the now slightly stiff but quite perfect George I know fully what part I'm suppose to play.

Life can be tough once you lose the one you love.

I think this could apply as a good subtitle for the movie starred by Colin Firth. A beautiful, and also deep, film that portrays how difficult it is having to pretend everything is ok - live having to go on when all you want is to stop, just stop, or as Hamlet put it, "to sleep".

Throughout the single day depicted in the film, and narrated from his point of view, this man dwells on his past, shown in flashbacks, and his seemingly empty future, as he prepares for a change in his life. He sets everything in order so that he can reach his intent, to put a stopper into his suffering. Everyday things and encounters become special for him, realizing that for each it is the last time, and he is extra nice to people, as he is secretly saying goodbye.

Ok, ok, I won't reveal more on the plot... just leave you with the trailer and another quote from the film:



"A few times in my life I've had moments of absolute clarity, when for a few brief seconds the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade. I have lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present, and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be."

A film everyone should watch.
Especially those who are or intend to be parents.

Sexual orientation is not a choice - no one chooses to be gay or straight. By the way, I don't like this 'straight', as if the others were not right... be serious.
Do you think anyone would choose to be looked at oddly, not being able to express their feelings openly without being criticized? Do you think anyone would 'choose' to be gay? In our hypocritical society? I don't think so.

Being homossexual is not a disease. There is no "cure", because it is NOT an illness. There is no psychiatrist, or medicine, that would change the way people feel. Ou else, they would - usually what happens for those who go though all of this in order to find a "cure" is that they are swallowed by depression, or even worse, some being unhappy for the rest of their lives.

Love is unconditional. Haven't Jesus said to people to go to him however they were?
So, stop judging, stop criticizing.
Open your eyes!
